    HIPPIE SOCIETY: THE YOUTH REBELLION
This website is a great source for study, for projects, for reports and papers, or just to look at for personal interest. It's about peace and flowers and free love, it's about being fed up with the establishment, it's about the youth who in the 1960s went looking for a new way of life. On the pages of Hippie Society, you can watch video and listen to radio clips -- and you can also do a little (*gasp*) reading on modern counterculture movements and more. A fascinating site if you're into the counterculture movement of the sixties.
Interested in more? You can find books on the rebellion of the 60s at the library under a number of different headings and keywords. Try the subject United States -- History -- 1961-1969 -- Juvenile literature or United States Social Conditions 1960 1980 or United States History 1961 1969.
There are lots of good sources there -- and don't forget -- one of the BIG parts of the hippie movement was music -- and we've got lots!

(The picture above is Hippies on the Corner of Haight and Ashbury by Gene Anthony, 1967.)
