    PRAISES AND SHOUTS AND PIRATES
I finished the third book in the Hungry City Chronicles last week. Infernal Devices by Philip Reeve was another spectacular showing of futuristic science fiction. This time the story happens about 20 years after the first two, and Tom and Hester's daughter Wren carries most of the story. Underwater cities, traction cities, flying cities, wars, thieves, friends and enemies.... This is one of those series I'm glad I discovered -- and am happy to recommend -- and the best part is that there's still one more book to go!

Tomorrow we have our next library movie on the big screen -- it's the original pirate romance on the high seas, starting at 2.30 and starring Jack Sparrow! And aren't you waiting in great anticipation for Pirates 2?

What kind of pirate are you? Try this quiz from the History Channel and find out. (It appears that I'm like Anne Bonny....) Here's another you can try, in case you're not ready for the boardroom. It's the cutthroat challenge....
