BITS & PIECES
It's a crazy cold day out there -- only 25 degrees by my current calculations (or, rather, the calculations of wunderground weather, listed on Framingham.com), and it's not supposed to get much warmer. Brrr.... The days that I'd like to be curled up in warm blankets and reading come with more and more frequency.
I returned from my Thanksgiving travels last night after a very very long drive. I was happy to be able to relax on my couch and watch a few episodes of Veronica Mars on library DVD and eat pie before settling in for a long sleep in preparation for the return to work. Somewhere between all that, I started Not the End of the World by Geraldine McCaughrean, but only made it through the first chapter before dropping of exhaustion. I'll bookend it when I finish.
One of the children's librarians has recently finished Rebel Angels by Libba Bray. She said it was a bit slow to start and not quite as good as Great & Terrible Beauty (which I found fabulous), but it picked up and was quite a good read; she liked it.
I received an email today from a colleague who said that this blog was referenced in a Massachusetts Library Association blogging presentation. That's fantastic! Welcome to any of you passing through. As always, please feel free to pass along comments.
I've put out a few new books. We had requests for some Lara Croft graphic novels, so a couple of those have come in. Also, the Moth and some hardcover novels. If you're running low on weekend reading, we've got plenty to share and we're open as usual!
