BOOK RECOMMENDATION
From the YA librarian in Natick:
Smashed: A Story of a Drunken Girlhood by Koren Zailckas.
The author takes us through her drunken days in high school (MA), while in college at Syracuse University, and early into her post-graduate days while working in New York city. She writes this book to shed light on how alcohol abuse is rampant among young women and how destructive and deadly the abuse can be. She was even able to make me laugh out loud at some of her low points by her witty, funny, and frank style of writing. This would be a great book discussion book for older teens (seniors).
CHIBICONN ANIME FESTIVAL
