SOCCER NEWS & AN AUTHOR OF NOTE
Sad news came today when it was announced that WUSA, the United States' women's soccer league, would be suspending operations because of a lack of funding. It's a sad day for women't soccer, which enjoyed such a flourish after winning the World Cup a few years ago.

But on a lighter note, there was an article in the Boston Globe this morn about a YA fantasy author whose books we carry. Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, at age 19, has just published another book, Hawksong, the first of a four-book series. Her books feature shape shifters and vampires, but feel contemporary. You can try them out in the YA Dept.
